Warlords of Draenor: WoW’s New ExPac

Warlords of Draenor_Logo1

Just announced minutes ago, Warlords of Draenor will be Blizzards next Expansion Pack for World of WarCraft.  Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.  More to come as BlizzCon 2013 continues this weekend.

Blizzard Entertainment: Heroes of the Storm [MOBA]

Heroes of the Storm _Logo1Blizzard Entertainment is certainly priming the rumor mill today with their recent renaming of their MOBA title from “Blizzard All-Stars” to “Heroes of the Storm”.  With BlizzCON just over three weeks away as of the time of this post it stands to reason that Heroes will be one of the keynote discussion points.  Not much else has been said as of yet, but I assume tidbits of information will be leaked in the weeks to come leading up to BlizzCON on November 8th & 9th.

2013_BlizzConLogoBlizzard grabbed the Twitter handle as well, so be sure to follow them at @BlizzHeroes and keep tabs on their website for updates as well.

Check out the video Blizzard dropped with the name change below and let me know what you think in the comments section.  Personally, I’m a huge League of Legends fan so Blizzard will need to bring something revolutionary to the table if they want to steal some of my game-time away from Riot.

World of WarCraft: Mists of Pandaria

BlizzCon is delivering in a big way considering it’s only day one.  By “big” we mean we can hardly bare it – or PANDA BEAR it.  (See how clever we are?  Hey, at least we didn’t re-use the “PANDA-monium” from the Twitter feed . . . oh, wait –  just did.)

Blizzard announced the new expansion “Mists of Pandaria” that comes with a slew of features including, but not limited too:  Level Cap Increase To 90; New Race “Pandaren”; New Class “Monk”; Dungeon Challenge Mode; Pet Battle System; New Zone.

The new Race “Pandaren” will be the first neutral Race in World of WarCraft – meaning you can choose to be Horde or Alliance.  We have yet to determine if the new Zone will be a major city like Stormwind, Undercity and Orgrimmar but the hope is certainly there.  It would be such a waste to have such a beautiful starting point for the Pandaren to not have it be a major city to visit regularly – if not make your permanent home once you hit the new Level Cap of 90.

Blizzard was generous with the range of available classes for the Pandaren allowing room for Tanks, DPS or Healers to find a home with them.  This should please the masses and allow this Race to thrive.

While the waiting game begins for this next expansion to hit the shelves,  head over to Blizzards page for Mists of Pandaria to check out all the finer details that I’m sure we have left out.

And don’t forget to watch the video for the Mists of Pandaria!

BlizzCon: There’s An App For That!

Are you planning on attending BlizzCon this weekend and have spent most of your Monday afternoon mapping out the Anaheim Convention Center and your activities?  Well save that graph paper for your next round of D&D my friends, because Blizzard has you covered with their BlizzCon 2011 App available for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android.

Engineered by NVIDIA, Blizzard has provided a solid App that is visually stunning on my Android powered LG G2x (which is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, so I lucked out there – but I digress . . . . MOVING ON!) as you would expect a Blizzard product to be.

When you first open the App, Blizzard has conveniently listed the events for you by starting time for the entire convention.  If you are only interested in StarCraft or Diablo or World of WarCraft – you can filter the list to show only those you wish to attend.  (Yeah, I doubt that feature will get used much too – but it’s a “nice to have” that I can appreciate.)

Once you have decided what you want to see/do, just click on the event and hit “Add To My Schedule” to build your own custom schedule.  They have even provided you with a map of the convention floor pinned with the events location so all you first-timer’s out there won’t look like such noobs (thankyou, thankyou THANKYOU!).  And, if you are forgetful like me you can even set an Event Alert to keep you on schedule so you don’t miss a thing.

The App is available for download in the Android Market and on iTunes.
